How long is a standard hire?
The basic 1 day hire period covers supply on one working day, use on the next day and return on the following working day. For example Friday to Monday charged at one day's hire only.
1-3 days - standard one day Hire charge
4-5 days - one and a half times one day's hire
1 week - twice one day's hire.
2 weeks - four times one day's hire.
3 weeks - five times one day's hire.
4 weeks - six times one day's hire.
Leave yourself time for Laying up and for clearing away / repacking afterwards!
Can I hire for longer periods?
Yes of course by negotiation.
Do your prices include a dirty wash service?
Yes, all of our Prices quoted include a dirty wash service which means as soon as you have finished the event simply place the dirty items back into the correct storage provided.
How much do you charge for Delivery?
All deliveries incur approx. £2.00 per mile charge, which is charged one way only. For example OX3 8SX to your Venue / Location postcode.
How many tables can I fit into my space?
See table below to work out how many tables and guests a space will accomodate.
Please note:6ftround seats 10 to 12 people. 5ft6" round seats 8 people, 5ft round seats up to 8 people and 6ft trestle seats 6 people.

How do I order linen?
Linen orders require at least two working days (Monday to Friday). Linen is laundered and delivered to Oxford Event Hire on Tuesday's and Thursdays. Linen ordered with less than 48 hours notice may incur an additional third party delivery charge.
What happens if we are not present when you come to collect?
We shall find a mutually convenient time to collect the goods, it is not necessary for the hirer to be present on collection, however all goods are left at hirer's risk.
Who is responsible for the equipment once delivered?
The responsibility of the catering equipment once delivered remains the responsibility of the Hirer. If you require insurance for your event we reccomend Arc International who are event insurance specialists on 020 7977 7630. Make sure you quote Oxford Event Hire for a great rate!
Can I add additional items to my order?
Yes. Additional items can be added upto 48 hours before the delivery, subject to availability.
What happens if I notice broken item(s) in my order?
Simply let us know within 24 hours of receiving the order, failure to do so may result in the item(s) being charged to your final invoice.
What happens if I accidently break item(s)?
Don't worry, breakages occur from time to time. You will be charged for broken item(s) at cost price so we can maintain our stock levels.
Can I cancel my order?
Orders can be cancelled at any time in writing by Email or Post and must be done within one week of the event taking place or full payment will be imposed for the event hire. Furthermore, requests to cancel an order must be acknowledged and confirmed by Oxford Event Hire Ltd.
Can we collect our order?
Unfortunately we only deliver items.
Do your prices include VAT?
Sadly all prices are excluding VAT.
Do you have a minimum order value?
Yes we do; all orders under £20 will be will automatically made up to a total of £20 (excluding VAT).
Do you have a terms and conditions for hire?
Yes we do - by confirming an order you are accepting the fact that you have read and agree to our terms and conditions.
Should I use plastic glassware for my event?
When taking a look at the price of plastic glassware online, you can see quality plastic glassware would work out very expensive in high quantities.
One example for you - 20 plastic wine glasses cost £6.49, if you hire from OEH you will receive 36 wine glasses for £5.76 excl VAT.
